Rovi is one of those companies you probably have dealt with on a regular basis but never knew it.  Well they’re not staying in the shadows anymore.

Rovi’s new TotalGuide project gives CE manufacturers a full guide stack for their devices. TotalGuide enhances the consumer experience through rich TV programming guide database and extended multimedia. With the latest in search and recommendations technologies, Rovi’s TotalGuide TV programming guides consumers to find favorite TV programs and discover new TV and programs in a number of ways.

One of the cool features of this platform is the ability for 3rd party content partners to create their own microsite experiences.  When Rovi needed some partners to create some sample sites they approached us with CBS to build the CBS Portal.  Rovi was so pleased with that work they tapped us to put together a sample microsite for their SDK.

For this project we were able to begin to explore some new TV navigation paradigms in order to see how we could make exploring content both easy and compelling at the same time.  A few worked, a few not so much.  But that’s what this kind of work is about right?
